How to make business cards in Word

Word can print business cards on standard 10-up card sheets. The easiest way to get a good-looking card with a working QR code: design it here, then drop the image into Word.

Scanning this QR adds you to the phone's contacts (iPhone and Android camera apps).

    Card image & print

Print PDF: 3.5 × 2 in with 1/8 in bleed, front and back. Sheet: 10 cards per page, fits standard perforated card stock.

    Your card link

A web page with your card and a “Save contact” button. Your details are inside the link itself (after the #) and are never stored on our server. Open it

    Email signature

Email programs only show images hosted online, so paste a link to an image (e.g. your LinkedIn photo or website logo).

Paste into Gmail (Settings → Signature), Outlook (Settings → Signatures) or Apple Mail. The “Save my contact” link opens your card link.

    1. Make the card image

Fill in your details on this page, pick a template and download the card image (PNG). Pro gives you the 300 dpi version — and a ready-made 10-up PDF, which skips Word entirely.

    2. Set up the sheet in Word

    1. Open Word → Mailings → Labels → Options.
    2. Choose your sheet's vendor and product number — for example Avery US Letter, 5371 or 8371 (2 × 3.5 in, 10 per sheet). For A4 sheets, pick the matching A4 product.
    3. Click OK, then New Document. Word creates a table with 10 cells.

    3. Insert your card

    1. Click in the first cell → Insert → Pictures → choose your card image.
    2. Right-click the image → Size and Position → set 2 in high × 3.5 in wide.
    3. Copy the image into the other nine cells.

    4. Print it right

    • Print a test page on plain paper and hold it against a card sheet.
    • Set the printer to actual size / 100%, not “fit to page”.
    • Choose the heavy paper or card stock setting.
    • Scan one finished card's QR code before printing the rest.

    Faster: skip Word

The Pro 10-up sheet is a PDF with crop marks on Letter or A4, with backs mirrored for double-sided printing. Printable business cards

    Frequently asked questions

Does Word have business card templates?

Yes, through Mailings → Labels with business-card products like Avery 5371, plus templates in File → New.

    Why are my cards misaligned?

Usually the printer scaled the page. Print at 100% / actual size and check the sheet's product number.

Can I put a QR code in a Word business card?

Yes — insert the QR code image or the whole card image made here.

Can I print double-sided in Word?

It's fiddly; the Pro 10-up PDF has mirrored backs ready for duplex printing.

Contact files follow vCard 3.0 (RFC 2426); QR codes follow ISO/IEC 18004. Checked 2026-11-07.
