1. Make your contact QR code
Fill in your details on this page and download the QR code under Save contact → QR PNG. On your phone, save the image to Photos, or open your card link and add it to your home screen (Share → Add to Home Screen on iPhone; ⋮ → Add to Home screen on Android) so it's one tap away.
2. Let them scan it
- iPhone: open the Camera, point it at the code, tap the banner → Create New Contact → Done.
- Android: open the Camera (or Google Lens), point it at the code, tap the suggestion → Add to contacts → Save.
Turn your screen brightness up and hold your phone still, about 20–30 cm away.
If it won't scan
- Too dense: remove optional fields from the QR code (address, note, social links) — they stay in the .vcf file.
- Too small or blurry: show it larger, or print at least 2 × 2 cm.
- Low contrast: keep the code black on white; don't put it on a photo.
- Cropped border: leave the white margin around the code.
- Older Android phone: use Google Lens or a QR scanner app.
Other ways to share
Send the .vcf file in a chat or email, paste your card link, or add the “Save my contact” link to your email signature. Email signature
Frequently asked questions
Can I share my contact by QR code without an app?
Yes. The iPhone Camera and most Android cameras read contact QR codes directly.
Does the person scanning need internet?
Not for a vCard QR code — the contact is inside the code. A card-link QR code needs internet to open the page.
Can I scan a QR code that's on my own screen?
Another phone can scan your screen. To read a QR code saved on your own phone, use Google Lens on the image or long-press it in Photos on iPhone.
Is it safe to share my contact this way?
It's as safe as handing over a paper card: whoever scans it gets the details you chose to put in it.
Contact files follow vCard 3.0 (RFC 2426); QR codes follow ISO/IEC 18004. Checked 2026-11-06.
