A save-contact QR code for your Canva business card

Canva is great for designing cards, but its built-in QR code tool takes a web address. To make people's phones offer “Add to contacts”, you need a vCard QR code — make one here and drop it into your Canva design.

  • Nothing uploaded
  • No sign-up, no subscription
  • Scan → saved to contacts
  • .vcf · QR · PNG · PDF

Profile photoOptional. Shown on the card and saved inside the .vcf, so it appears in your contact's phone.

Social profiles

A handle (@jane) or a full link both work. They're added to the contact file and your card link.

Shown on your card link and the back of the printed card, saved as the contact's note.

    Save contact

Scanning this QR adds you to the phone's contacts (iPhone and Android camera apps).

    Card image & print

Print PDF: 3.5 × 2 in with 1/8 in bleed, front and back. Sheet: 10 cards per page, fits standard perforated card stock.

    Your card link

A web page with your card and a “Save contact” button. Your details are inside the link itself (after the #) and are never stored on our server. Open it

    Email signature

Email programs only show images hosted online, so paste a link to an image (e.g. your LinkedIn photo or website logo).

Paste into Gmail (Settings → Signature), Outlook (Settings → Signatures) or Apple Mail. The “Save my contact” link opens your card link.

    Why Canva's QR code isn't a contact

Canva's QR code generator encodes a URL: scanning it opens a website. That's fine for your portfolio, but people still have to find and type your number. A vCard QR code contains the contact itself — name, phone, email, company — so the phone offers to save it in one tap, even offline. Canva's app marketplace has third-party vCard QR apps too; the steps below work without one and without an account.

Put a vCard QR code into Canva

    1. Fill in your details on this page. Keep to the essentials (name, mobile, email, company, title, website) so the code stays easy to scan.
    2. Click QR code (SVG). SVG is vector, so it stays sharp at any print size.
    3. In Canva, open your business card design → Uploads → upload the SVG → drag it onto the card.
    4. Make it at least 2 × 2 cm (0.8 in) and leave the white border around it.
    5. Scan the code on your screen with your phone before you order prints.

Or make the whole card here

The builder on this page makes the card with your QR code already in place, in 32 templates, plus the .vcf file, a card link and an email signature. With Pro you get a print-shop PDF with bleed, ready for Canva Print, Vistaprint or any local printer.

    Frequently asked questions

Can Canva make a vCard QR code?

Canva's own QR code tool encodes a web address. For a contact QR code, use a third-party app from Canva's marketplace or upload a vCard QR SVG made here.

What file format should I upload to Canva?

SVG. It's vector, so the QR code stays perfectly sharp when printed. PNG at 1024 px also works.

How big should the QR code be on a business card?

At least 2 × 2 cm (0.8 in), with its white margin.

Is the QR code free to use commercially?

Yes. There's no account, no watermark and no expiry.

Contact files follow vCard 3.0 (RFC 2426); QR codes follow ISO/IEC 18004. Checked 2026-11-07.
